Privacy Policy

The short version

Who we are

LogPit is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android made by an independent developer. For anything to do with privacy, email support@logpit.app.

Because LogPit never receives the information you put into the app, we are not able to see, sell, share or analyse it.

What is stored on your device

Only what you enter or import, kept in the app's own storage on your device:

• Your logbook: flights, aircraft, crew names, checks and reviews (flight reviews, proficiency checks, recurrent training), notes and saved roster photos.
• Your profile: name, rank, airline and home base, and — only if you add them — date of birth, address, licence details, expiry dates and an electronic signature.
• A short import history: when each import happened, what kind it was and how many flights it added, so you can undo one.
• Your settings, such as logbook format, colours, reminders and backup folder.

This information is used only inside the app and to fill in the exports you make.

Camera and photos

The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to scan an ACARS screen, read a roster, scan a paper logbook or save a roster photo. Text is read on your device — by Apple’s built-in text recognition on iPhone and iPad, and by Google’s on-device ML Kit on Android, which runs without an internet connection. Photos are never uploaded.

Notifications

LogPit can remind you before an expiry date, when a backup is due and before your free trial ends. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your device — no server is involved — and one switch in Settings turns them all off.

Purchases and subscriptions

Plans are bought through Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPad, and through Google Play on Android. The store processes the payment under its own privacy policy; LogPit never sees your card, Apple ID or Google account details. The store tells the app only which plan is active and when a subscription renews or ends, so it can unlock the full app.

So that reinstalling doesn't restart the free trial, LogPit keeps the date your trial began in your device's keychain. This stays on your device.

Exports and sharing

Your logbook leaves the app only when you export or share it yourself — as a CSV, a PDF logbook, a summary page or image, or a full backup file — and it goes only where you choose to send it. The summary image leaves out your address, date of birth and licence number.

Feedback and Refer a Friend open your own Mail app or share sheet, so you decide exactly what is sent.

Backups

If your device backs up to iCloud, Google or a computer, LogPit’s data may be included. That backup is made and stored by Apple, Google or your computer, under your control.

You can also save a full backup file (.logpit) yourself, or turn on automatic backup to save one to a folder you choose. The file holds everything in your logbook, including personal details you've entered (but not your signature or roster photos), so look after it as carefully as the logbook itself. LogPit never sends it anywhere: if the folder is in iCloud Drive, Google Drive or another storage service, that service keeps it under its own terms.

Before a restore replaces your logbook, LogPit keeps up to three safety copies on your device.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored from your device. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them. Because we hold no copy of your data, we can't recover it if the app is deleted or your device is lost without a backup.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics, adverts or third-party scripts, and loads nothing from other companies. Like any website, the company that hosts it (Netlify) processes standard technical information — such as your IP address and browser type — to deliver the pages and keep them secure. We don't use that information to identify you.

If you email us

If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to fix what you've reported, and delete them when they're no longer needed. We never add you to a mailing list unless you ask.

Your rights and children

You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected or deleted. In practice, the only information we could ever hold is an email you've sent us — ask and we'll delete it.

LogPit collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If LogPit's handling of data ever changes, this page and the Privacy page in the app will be updated and the date above will change.
