A record-keeping tool
LogPit is a personal logbook for recording and organising your flying. It lays your records out in the column format of the authority you choose (EASA, UK CAA, FAA, Transport Canada, CASA or ICAO), but whether a logbook meets your authority's requirements depends on what you record in it. Keep your records as your licensing authority requires, and follow any rules your operator sets.
Check what you import
Imports, scans and suggestions are read automatically, and automatic reading can be wrong — especially handwriting, photos and PDFs. A route filled in from a flight number is a guess based on your own earlier flights, and is only saved if you tick it. LogPit shows you what it found before anything is saved, but the logbook is your record: please check it.
Recency, limits and dates are guides
LogPit works out recency (the 90-day landing check, and FAA and Transport Canada currency), your recent hours against the limits you set, and expiry reminders from what you've recorded. They are aids to your own record-keeping, not legal rulings.
LogPit can't see type ratings, endorsements, exemptions, your operator's rules or the exact wording that applies to you, and rules change. Always check the regulation, your certificate and your operator before relying on any of it.
Your data and backups
LogPit does not hold, store or back up any of your data on its own servers — it doesn't have any. Everything you enter stays on your device, and backing it up is your responsibility: save a full backup file or a CSV to iCloud Drive, Google Drive or your files, turn on automatic backup, or rely on your device’s own backup.
If the app is deleted or the device is lost without a backup, the data can't be recovered. Restoring a backup can replace what's on the device; LogPit keeps up to three safety copies first, but they are not a substitute for your own backup.
Personal details
LogPit has no accounts or sign-in. The personal details you choose to enter — such as your name, licence number, date of birth, address and signature — stay on your device and are used only to fill in your own exports. A full backup file contains these details (but not your signature), so keep it safe. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Plans, trial and subscriptions
- Free trial. Every feature is free for 30 days from the first time you open the app.
- Free forever. After the trial, seeing your logbook, hours, totals and profile, exporting a CSV or PDF logbook and saving a full backup stay free — with or without a plan.
- Free logging by hand. Without a plan you can keep adding flights (and the aircraft they need) by hand, and edit them, until the flights you’ve logged by hand reach 250 hours. The flight that takes you past 250 hours is still saved. Imported flights don’t count towards the 250 hours.
- With a plan. Logging by hand beyond 250 hours, editing imported flights, every import, the map, crew, Rewind, notes, saved rosters, reminders, recency, automatic backup and the summary page and image need a plan.
- LogPit Annual (£11.99 a year) is the one plan on sale, an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm, and it renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings or the Play Store. If it ends, the features above lock again; your logbook stays viewable and exportable.
- Prices are shown in UK pounds and are subject to change; the App Store shows your local price, which may vary by country and include local taxes. You'll always see the current price before you pay.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the standard Apple Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement and Apple's own terms. Use Restore Purchases in the app to unlock another device signed in to the same Apple ID. On Android, purchases and refunds are handled by Google Play under its own terms. A plan bought on one store doesn’t unlock LogPit on the other: there are no accounts to link them.
Not affiliated
LogPit is independent. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any airline, aviation authority or regulator. Airline names are offered only so you can set the app up for where you fly. Apple, iPhone, iPad and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC.
Beta notice
LogPit is new and still being refined. Some bugs or unexpected behaviour may still be present — if you find one, please tell us through Feedback in the app or at support@logpit.app so it can be fixed in a future update.
Ongoing development
LogPit is developed by a single independent developer. We intend to keep improving it, but we can't guarantee updates or support forever. Whatever happens, your logbook stays yours: you can always see it and export it as CSV or PDF, with or without a plan.
No warranty
LogPit is provided as it is, to help you keep your own records. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses arising from errors in records, missed reminders or lost data. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
